About Tales of Light

Welcome to Tales of Light! This blog was originally conceived as an analog photography gallery, dedicated to showcasing the timeless beauty of 35mm film photography. Our journey began in 2018 with a deep passion for analog photography, capturing moments on 38mm film and experiencing the entire process—from taking the pictures to developing and enlarging the film.

Initially, our approach was to scan printed pictures, but as we delved deeper into the world of analog photography, we discovered the tremendous potential of scanning developed film directly. This method revealed that scanned film could be about ten times the size of a traditional RAW digital picture, opening up incredible possibilities for post-development editing. The quality and depth achievable through this process transformed our perception and broadened our creative horizons.

With this significant shift, we realized that the «analog only» label no longer applied. This evolution naturally led us to incorporate digital photos into our collection, enriching our gallery with a broader spectrum of photographic techniques and styles. Embracing digital photography allowed us to explore new dimensions and expand our creative boundaries.

As we launch this blog, we see the potential of AI-generated images as a natural progression for the blog. By integrating AI-generated content, we ensure a consistent flow of captivating images, even when new analog or digital photos are not immediately available. This innovative approach allows us to maintain a steady stream of content, keeping our blog vibrant and engaging for our audience.

Tales of Light now stands as a meticulously curated collection featuring analog photographs, digital pictures, and AI-generated imagery. Each technique brings its own distinctive charm and authenticity, contributing to the rich tapestry of contemporary photography. In the description of each image, you will know whether it is AI, analog, or digital photography. Join us as we explore the vibrant interplay of these diverse methods, offering a unique perspective on the art of capturing light in all its forms. Thank you for being a part of our journey, and we look forward to sharing many more moments of light and creativity with you.
